Goldie is a white scurred ewe from Jager farm and was born 4/25/09. She carries moorit, solid and spotting and has a lovely lustrous fleece. She is short in height and probably one of my smaller mature Icelandic ewes, but has a long body and good width.
She is a Ljufur granddaughter, a Mori great-granddaughter and has Kari, Heli and Rektor in her pedigree as well.
We bought her as a yearling and she’s had twin rams twice in a row, but has a nice spotted scurred ewe lamb this year, 2013, Ella, who we plan to keep.
Her 2014 daughter, Stella, is still for sale. Stella looks like she may be polled, although Ella sprouted large scurs over last winter, and is white, carries morrit and maybe spotting. For patterns, she carries solid for sure and either gray or mouflon from her father. She was a single raised as a twin. Goldie stole one of Midnight’s lambs and raised her along with Stella.
We are also considering selling Goldie as a bred ewe this winter-2014-15. She doesn’t compete as well as I’d like with our other horned or larger ewes and I think she’d do better in a polled flock. Ella, her 2013 daughter, seems much more feisty and she will stay.
She is bred to lamb in March.
